"There is no one perfect way to be a good mother. Each situation is unique. Each mother has different challenges, different skills and abilities, and certainly different children. What matters is that a mother loves her children deeply and, in keeping with the devotion she has for God and her husband, prioritizes them above all else."
-M. Russell Ballard
I know how horrible this sounds, but it is really funny to hear my baby say inappropriate words. His little lisp and funny inflections make everything sound cute. 2/4
Our ward switched to 11 am church this year (so happy) and we were on time to church, early actually. When the sacrament hymn started, Ally said "is it time to go already?" She didn't know that there are 2 songs at the beginning of church. 1/2
We lost the mimi (binki) last week. Literally lost it. So we decided to not buy a new one and see it as an opportunity. It has been a challenging week. Clark asks for it constantly, even though he is the one who lost it to begin with. When I say "where is it?" he runs through the list of possible places. "bed" "purse" "car". Just hoping it will turn up in one of those places. Sweet children that I have, conspired the other day to put their money together and buy Clark a new mimi for Christmas. It broke my heart to have to BEG them not too. I just hope he stops yelling at me soon so I don't regret that decision. 12/16
Yesterday we had a homemaking activity that involved lots of sweets and treats. Clark got so excited when he saw my leftovers that I brought home. "CAKE!" He squealed in delight. I didn't realize he even knew that word. 11/11
Our cousin is visiting today because his mama is recovering from the birth of his new sister. Luke and he were going through the Cars toys deciding which one they each got to play with. "This one is Kajigga (Chick Hicks), this one is Dinaco Blue (Lightening McQueen painted blue) and this one is The Bad Guy, because he ran the truck off the road." I don't know if I should be proud or concerned. 10/26
At dinner tonight Emma asked for another piece of fried chicken. Ry looked at it and told her no, all she had eaten was the skin. She said, "I just like the outside." To which Ally replied, "You're like a virgin, you don't eat meat."
